Botox®

Botox® treatment is used to improve the appearance of "worry lines," "frown lines," "crow's feet," "forehead wrinkles" and other so-called dynamic wrinkles. By relaxing the underlying upper facial muscles, Botox® leaves the overlying skin smooth and unwrinkled while untreated facial muscles contract normally, allowing normal facial expressions to be unaffected.

Botox® treatment is a simple and safe procedure. Small amounts of Botox® are injected with a very fine needle into several locations in the face. Because the needle is so fine and only a small amount of liquid is used, the pain associated with the procedure is minimal. No sedation or local anesthetic is required, and you can drive home immediately after the procedure. The only side effects are occasional light and temporary bruising of the skin at the injection points, but otherwise there will be no visible signs of treatment.

By smoothing out dynamic wrinkles, Botox® injections will give you smoother skin and a more youthful appearance. For long lasting results, Botox® injections should be given every three months for the first year then every five to six months.
